2023 Academic Scholarship Application
The Boswell Academic Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior who will enroll for the first time in a four year U.S. located accredited College or University. Scholarship awards are based on three criteria:
Academic Achievement
Leadership
Community Service
Payment of scholarship awards shall be made payable to the recipient and the institution where the recipient has provided proof of enrollment. The scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, supplies and other fees. The recipient must be a full time student.
Application Deadline: March 31, 2023
Eligibility Requirements
Must be a citizen/legal permanent resident of the United States
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least a 3.5 on a scale of 5.0, verified by a High School transcript
Must demonstrate Leadership abilities through participation in Community Service, Extracurricular or other activities
Must complete and submit all required forms: typed student application, high school transcript, 500 word essay entitled “Why I Believe that Community Service is Important” and two letters of recommendation outlining the student’s leadership activities and community service by the deadline date.
School must email official high school transcript to fbefscholarship@gmail.com. Student name must be included in the email subject line and must be received not later than 11:59PM March 31, 2023.

Faye B. Bryant Scholarship
for Education Majors Attending an HBCU
The Faye B. Bryant scholarship will be awarded to a 2023 graduating high school senior who will enroll for the first time in a four-year U.S. located accredited historically black college or university (HBCU) and major in education. The Scholarship award is based on three criteria: Academic Achievement, Leadership and Community Service. One $8,000 scholarship will be awarded in $2,000 increments paid for the first four years of college if a 3.0 minimum GPA is maintained each academic year and the student majors in education and attends an HBCU. Payment of scholarship awards shall be made payable to the recipient and the institution where the recipient has provided proof of enrollment. The scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, supplies and other fees. The recipient must also be a full-time student.

Recommendation letter from a high school counselor, teacher, community leader must include his or her contact information (name, title, address, email, and primary phone number). A total of two (2) letters of recommendation are required.
The application must be signed on-line by both student and parent/guardian.
